At 20 midnight on Friday in Beijing, Nike has sued Wal-Mart Store Inc for accusing the retail giant of selling Nike's patent designed sneakers.

Nike said in its indictment filed on Monday that WAL-MART sells shoes that are too similar to Nike's shox running shoes.

These shoes have a spring type device on the heel.

According to the complaint received by the Federal District Court of Northern District of Illinois, Nike hopes WAL-MART will stop selling such sports shoes and claim damages.

Nike's products are not sold in WAL-MART, and the company has argued that if its products are sold in discount chains, its brand will depreciate.
