On October 17th, NTT, a Japanese telecoms giant, said that with its technology, users could charge for portable electronic products by walking.

According to foreign media reports, NTT is developing shoes that can be generated by people walking and walking.

A small generator is installed on the water insole. When the user walks, it will create pressure on the insole. Water will push a small turbine to generate electric current.

NTT spokesman Hideomi Tenma said that the current power of the shoe is 1.2 watts, provided that the user is walking enough to power the iPod music player.

He said, "we plan to increase the power of these shoes to 3 watts, which is the level needed for mobile phone power supply."

Tenma said that such shoes do not have the function of storing electric energy, but they can charge the cell phone. Users can talk with their mobile phone as long as they walk around.

NTT hopes that this new technology can enter the practical stage in early 2010.
