Xinjiang First Released Recommendation Of Cotton Varieties In 2022

In order to guide cotton growers to scientifically select high-quality cotton varieties and further improve the quality and consistency of cotton, the cotton association of the autonomous region recently issued the recommendation of cotton varieties in 2022, which covers 11 cotton planting prefectures, 38 cotton planting counties (cities) and 45 ecological regions, Thirty five main cotton varieties with both quality and yield were recommended.

Su Xuhong, Deputy Secretary General of the cotton association of the autonomous region, said that in order to better solve the problem of more and more miscellaneous cotton varieties in our region, improve the consistency of raw cotton quality and improve the quality of cotton in our region, the cotton association of the autonomous region has put forward recommendations through fair and scientific screening and comparison based on the conditions of cotton variety quality, yield, resistance, adaptability and suitable machine harvesting, It is recommended to plant one main variety and two auxiliary varieties in the same ecological region, namely "one main and two auxiliary" cotton varieties. Among them, there are 15 in Northern Xinjiang, 4 in eastern Xinjiang and 16 in southern Xinjiang.
