Recently, Xu Weilin, academician of the Chinese Academy of engineering and President of Wuhan Textile University, said that the guidance reflects an important promotion of the industry's scientific and technological innovation. In the future, the focus is still to "demand" as the guide and "talents" as the starting point, so as to promote "research" and "learning" to play a role around "use" and accelerate the development of high-end industrial textiles.

President Xu Weilin first stressed that the country continues to promote strategic emerging industries. As a part of the new material industry, industrial textiles play an increasingly important role. The guiding opinions put forward that in the future, we should further strengthen the research on common basic technology, carry out joint research on strong chain and complementary chain, and improve the multi-level scientific and technological innovation system, which has important guiding significance for promoting the original leading technology research and development of industrial textiles industry. Xu said that compared with the international advanced level, China's industrial textiles industry has a big gap in the development of raw materials, intelligent information manufacturing, production and product standardization, high-end products and green sustainability. In fact, we have been thinking about how to shorten these gaps.

During the 13th Five Year Plan period, Wuhan Textile University made full use of the construction opportunity of the State Key Laboratory of new textile materials and advanced processing technology, and actively promoted the industrial textiles to serve the major national aerospace projects: developed special elastic thermal insulation components for the Mars exploration project with quartz fiber, and realized the color scheme of "lunar flag" with silk micro nano particles, Inorganic basalt fiber filament is used to develop special connecting rope for "special double satellite" project, quartz fiber 2.5D fabric and its production equipment are developed and used in the production of a special missile shell. At the same time, we also developed special cable net structure and special products, fabric based flexible keyboard and other flexible electronic devices. For the promotion of high-end transformation and upgrading of industrial textiles, the school is also actively breaking through. For example, "polysaccharide fiber fabric for field hemostasis" is being registered and applied for class III medical devices. The double-layer structural patch and its tension-free hernia repair technology have been applied clinically. The first human clinical application of small-diameter artificial blood vessel has been carried out in Beijing Fuwai Hospital. The joint development of biomass based artificial heart valve with Wuhan Union Medical College Hospital has been funded by the state key R & D program.

In terms of industry university research and application collaboration, president Xu believes that the next step is to take "demand" as the guidance, and "talents" as the starting point, and promote "research" and "learning" to play a role around "use" through the organization and guidance of the industry. Hubei Province is an important medical and health textile production base in China, with a number of industry backbone enterprises, especially Xiantao City, which is actively promoting the construction of "four bases and two centers" of national nonwoven industry. Combined with the key tasks of the guidance, for how to implement the textile planning in Hubei Province, president Xu suggested that the upstream should strengthen the research and development of basic materials, the downstream should be deeply integrated into high-end medical, aerospace, military, environmental protection and other fields, and the midstream should strengthen intelligent manufacturing and standard quality work. Through the co construction of "Hubei Province nonwoven technology innovation center", the technical research and development direction and key technical problems of nonwoven industry are further refined, and a national and provincial scientific research platform integrating technology innovation, achievement transformation, talent exchange and innovation demonstration will be built. "The most fundamental thing is to encourage scientific and technological innovation and personnel training, build platforms and systems that conform to the laws of R & D and market, and support them through multiple channels such as industrial capital and financial capital," he said
