In 2021, the social responsibility Promotion Committee of China Textile Industry Federation launched the first open source project of "sustainable future materials", focusing on the exploratory research of textile sustainable future materials, and compiling the white paper on textile sustainable future materials, aiming at the medium-term 2030 and 2050 sustainable development long-term goals of the textile and clothing industry, To explore the unified connotation and evaluation system of sustainable future materials, as well as the industrial objectives and roadmap of sustainable future materials development.

Therefore, the office of social responsibility of China Textile Industry Federation launched White paper on textile materials for a sustainable future This activity is aimed at "encouraging the industry to carry out academic research, deepening the level of environmental protection design, promoting the development of green technology, and guiding the direction of industry reform". Through the solicitation activities, we can stimulate the scientific thinking of all stakeholders in the textile industry chain on sustainable materials, This paper reflects the views and trends of sustainable development of textile industry materials from enterprises, institutions and colleges in the industry, and discusses the sustainable development trend of industrial materials in the future and the direction of technological innovation.

Based on a certain scientific basis and technical feasibility, this paper focuses on the development direction of green and sustainable textile materials, and predicts the sustainable materials with large-scale industrial application prospect in the textile field in the future (10 years later). The negative impact of such materials on ecology, biology and environment can be reduced to a minimum, and the green, biological and environmental impact can be minimized The three dimensions of fashion and science and technology discuss this kind of materials synchronously

1) green dimension:

The sustainability of green environmental protection and harmlessness was evaluated from the sources of raw materials, energy consumption and emissions of processing process, and the recycling of products.

2) fashion dimension:

Compared with the existing products, the textile products based on the above materials have advantages in function and fashion, so as to better meet people's deeper needs for high quality and better life.

3) science and technology dimension:

The technical feasibility of partial or complete replacement of the existing mainstream materials by the material;

It is feasible for the material to meet the social demand for multi-functional materials through the improvement and innovation of existing materials.

This paper does not discuss the following issues:

Textile materials that have been widely used on a large scale and do not meet the above dimensions are not included in the scope of this paper.
