In this fashion week, FHCM not only chose the fashion week partners of Paris fashion week in accordance with sustainable standards, but also announced the rules for the use of materials during the fashion week 2020. For example, eliminate the use of disposable plastic products, promote the recycling of different materials, use of hybrid cars and so on. In addition, they will track and record the environmental policies of the association and support the sustainable development of the industry.

Pascal Morand, executive director of FHCM, said that although the ISO (Global Industry and commerce international standards) Ordinance for fashion week already existed, but it was not comprehensive, FHCM formulated the exclusive sustainable policy of the association. In the future, they will be more open to supporting the sustainable development of the whole industry. This means that designers and brands can decide on their own environmental protection programs, but brands that do not adopt any sustainable development measures may be rejected by Paris fashion week.

In addition to Paris fashion week, Milan fashion week's sponsor, Italian Fashion Chamber, also cooperated with Eco-Age, an environmental protection advisory body. In 2017, the Green Carpet Fashion Awards Italia environmental fashion Grand Prix was launched in 2017. The London Fashion Week organizers, the British Fashion Council, also plan to launch the Institute of Positive Fashion fashion Environmental Protection Institute in 2020 to support the sustainable development of the fashion industry.
