Guan Dezhong, the workshop director of a large spandex enterprise in Henan, told reporters that since 2023, the order volume of the enterprise has increased significantly. In a spandex enterprise in Shaoxing, Zhejiang, the reporter also saw that the two production lines were producing at full capacity.

The increase of orders and the decrease of enterprise inventory also led to the recovery of domestic spandex prices. Data shows that from February 27 to March 3, the average price of domestic spandex increased by about 4500 yuan/ton from the lowest point.

During the interview, the reporter learned that in recent years, with the transformation and upgrading of clothing consumption, the application of spandex in the textile and clothing industry has increased significantly. At present, the recovery of the domestic textile industry has also provided some support for the upstream price of spandex.

Statistics show that in the domestic textile industry, the operating rate of circular knitting machines has risen from 20% before the Spring Festival to 40% - 50%, and that of warp knitting has risen from 30% - 40% before the Spring Festival to 70%. In a textile fabric enterprise in Xinxiang, Henan Province, the reporter saw that dozens of textile round machines were stepping up to make orders. The person in charge told the reporter that their orders were mainly concentrated in Zhejiang, Jiangsu, Guangdong and other major textile provinces. After the Spring Festival, their orders increased significantly, and their output also increased.

It is understood that with the upgrading of clothing consumption, the amount of spandex used in the textile and clothing field has increased significantly, from the traditional 3% - 5% to the current 10% - 25%, especially in some sportswear, yoga clothes and sun protection clothes. Industry insiders believe that the recent recovery of the downstream textile and clothing industry has directly driven the recovery of spandex prices.
