According to the data released by the Ministry of labour in Kampuchea, as of the reduction of export demand, as of April 2, 2020, 91 factories have applied for stoppage, and about 61 thousand and 500 workers have been affected.

Kampuchea Garment Manufacturers Association (GMAC) said that because of the impact of the new crown pneumonia epidemic, the international market is facing challenges, and about 70% of Kampuchea's garment exports to the European Union and the United States have also been damaged.

Most of the Kampuchea factories that applied for stoppage were caused by the reduction or stop orders of buyers from the European Union, the United States, Canada and other countries. The countries adopted the policy of "sealing up the city" and "Quarantine" for epidemic prevention, resulting in the closure of many department stores and the sharp reduction in demand, thus affecting buyers' orders.

The buyer notified the factory that the supply of goods was temporarily suspended and that the finished products were first retained in the factory. Not only in Kampuchea, but also in garment factories in Burma, Bangladesh, Vietnam, Indonesia and Laos.

According to GMAC statistics, Kampuchea's garment export market is about 46% of the total exports of the European Union, about 28% of the United States and about 8% of Canada. The total of these 3 markets has exceeded 70%.. Kampuchea's clothing exports to Europe, the United States and Canada are also large, resulting in a big conflict. It is expected that factories will continue to apply for stoppage in April.
